Destruction of Property and DUI

On July 30, at 9:30 a.m., Trooper First Class Hunt responded to the 11300 block of Sitting Bull Trail in Lusby, for a report of destruction of property. 

Michael J. Smith, 24 of Bowie, was charged with destruction of property and DUI.  He was taken to the Prince Frederick Barrack for processing.

Anyone who would like to provide information related to these or any other crimes occurring in Calvert County is asked to call the Maryland State Police Barrack at (410) 535-1400.  As always, you may remain anonymous.

Seems as......
......if all of the stories the last couple of days are from counties other than STM. Has STM finally been washed away?

I believe...
that the CRE or "Ranch Club" as we used to call it has become a pit in the last 10 years. Ever since it was opened to the public and the gates were taken down, the clientel has become very trashy. When I was growing up there it was well kept, even with dirt roads, and safe for its residents. Now it's a steaming pit of waste with drugs and trailer trash atmosphere. The property value has gone down to nothing. Maybe they should just napalm the whole place and put in a parking lot.

I agree about most of what you said about the Ranch Club. When I was little I used to go there during the summer with my parents friends. Now I do live in the Ranch Club and yes, there are some good for nothing, none working people in there that are giving the rest of us who work every day -- 5 days a week a bad name. They just need to take out the trash that lives on the county/state, has 5-6-7 kids and is not worried about looking for a job. I see it every day and something needs to be done about those people who just dont want to work and will tell you they are gonna take everything they can get. I know people need help at times in their life but they shouldn't be allowed to make a living off the rest of us working people!!!!!

If the pres sees these posts he'll say you both are racially profiling people. What with the large families who refuse to work and want to suckle off the government for all they can get, 'cause he might know some folks who resemble that remark.

When we came back to SOMD after 10 years military and saw what had become of the Ranch Club I was disgusted. The beaches are dirty, there are shady looking people walking the streets at all hours. All of the hardworking people that invested in Ranch Club property are losing money hand over fist. When I was growing up it was safe enough to ride bikes all day or go to the lake w/out a parent. Now it's just a dirty hole. We used to have security that made a difference, but now everyone just does what they want. I'm so ashamed, but I'm glad that my parents moved out of the house they owned for 30 years. It used to be rich, inviting, secure and wholesome. Now it's just waiting to become low income housing... oh, wait, it already is...
