Local Ballerina Receives Invitation to Train Year Round At Prestigious Ballet Academy 15 year old Alexandra MacWilliams, of St. Leonard, received an invitation to train in ballet and attend high school at the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts residency program in Connecticut. She has just finished a four week study with The Nutmeg, in the Professional training program and will return in August to the two week Apprentice training program. Ms. MacWilliams has been a student of Abigail Francisco School of Classical Ballet for the last 13 years. She has attended programs with the Kirov Academy of Ballet, Bossov Ballet Theatre and American Ballet Theatre in New York City. In 2007 Alexandra was a recipient of the Edward Stewart Memorial Scholarship. Only a select group of students are chosen yearly for Nutmeg Conservatory's accredited training program. A scholarship fund has been set to help Ms. MacWilliams with the cost of her training.
