Hospice of St. Mary’s will host a dedication and open house on Wednesday, September 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the beautiful new Hospice House in Callaway, Md.  The event will be held rain or shine.  Please RSVP by calling the hospital’s Administration at (301) 475-6008.

The Hospice House is located off of Aster Drive (Cox’s Run) in Callaway.  Proceed on Aster Drive to its end, approximately a half-mile, and turn right on Redbud Drive.  Next, turn right onto Montgomery Lane (a dirt road).  Proceed to where the road bends to a sharp left.  Hospice Lane is on the right, and the house is approximately 0.2 miles on Hospice Lane.

Hospice House will primarily serve patients during the last two to four weeks of life who may no longer be able to receive care in their own homes due to complicated treatment or family constraints.  The house, featuring six patient rooms, will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet patients’ needs.  Each bedroom has a different identity, much like a home, and the house includes a large family-style kitchen.
