Single Vehicle Accident Leads to Arrest for Man Who Fled Scene

At approximately 4:44 p.m. on July 26, police responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Willows Road. Eye witness reports stated that the vehicle left the roadway and struck the curb causing it to careen across the center line where the vehicle ran off the road and hit a pole. The impact caused a wheel to break free of the car.
Witnesses told police that the male driver of the vehicle told them to not call 911 and that he would take care of it. The male then proceeded to flag down a car and left the scene.
Police on the scene, eye witnesses described the suspect who was later found and arrested,Antron Delvon Somerville, 25 of Lexington Park who was charged with driving while suspended, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to control speed to avoid an accident.
When questioned, the owner of the vehicle reported to police that she did not know who was driving her car, and that the only one with permission to drive it was her daughter. Authorities stated that the owner of the vehicle will not be charged in the incident.
