Woman Charged with Child Abuse After Kicking, Punching Youth Down Stairs

On July 22, deputies responded to a residence on Gooseneck Road in Lexington Park, for a report of a child abuse. 

Investigation revealed Ella Maxine Glenn, 41 of Lexington Park, assaulted a 13-year-old female, who was in Glenn’s care and custody.  Glenn dragged the youth partially down a set of stairs by her feet, kicked and punched the victim in the back, then pushed the victim the rest of the way down the stairs and slapped the victim in the face. 

Glenn was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and second-degree child abuse.

Just another case of discipline - we are only getting the child's version of the story since I'm sure she is the one who called the police to complain. Statements from the one charged are not usually printed. I doubt that is was as bad as this story makes it seem.

your right, their are 2 sides to a story, but you also may not realize how many parents do loose control and do abuse their children.

We don't know that this is her mother. It only says it was a child in her care and custody. Maybe that's the new terminology now so that they don't specifically identify the victim as being their child.

Kicking and punching the victim? Dragging the victim down the stairs? I'm sorry, I don't call that discipline. I understand there are 3 sides to every story (his side, her side, and the truth) but this is just crazy.

Just another case of down syndrome from brbr. Discipline? [Deleted] doing that much damage is not disciplining them. Beating your child is not always a way to solve things especially pushing them down the stairs. It could make it worse... Let me push you around like that, brbr. Loser

..... do you have to start crap? I was simply trying to say that there is more than one side to the story. A child's story is going to be exaggerated to get the point across.

ANOTHER TEEN GIRL BEAT DOWN
Some other teen girl got it the other day and now another one. Still wondering just like the other case was it deserving or not? The story makes it sound like this lady was trying to murder her. We all know some kids these days are way out of control and they will try you in a minute. If you're going to kick someone's [deleted] you better do it right the first time.

she will get up and do her chores the next time! Hey we don't know what happened, maybe the girl is wrong and the woman is right. However violence begets violence and should be avoided at all costs, and stories can and do get blown out of context.

is that she(the child) pushed the wrong button(s)!!! I feel for the caregiver, although I wish she handled it differently.

Teenage girls nowadays start so much drama with everyone. And since women have been encouraged for years by other women (mothers, sisters, sometimes even babysitters) to be strong and confident, they become more inclined to have a physical confrontation. So if the child instigated it, maybe the woman was only defending herself at first and then got carried away. We must look at all the possibilities before judging this woman for something we don't understand.

I'll bet
the teen got out of line, got her butt whipped and fought back, probably punched her (mom?), then things went into overdrive. I'm no fan of abusive behavior, but parents/adults need to be in control of their homes...by any (reasonable) means necessary.

How would she like to get her a## whipped. Society once thought is was okay for men to beat their wives. Its not now. and it will not be accepted for people to beat children ever. It needs to be stopped and punished.
Just like the wife beater is.
Violence begets violence.
