On July 18 at 2:25 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 12100 block of Ell Lane in Waldorf for the reported shooting.

The investigation revealed the two victims were in a parked vehicle when two suspects armed with handguns approached them and demanded drugs and money. One of the victims, a 20-year-old Waldorf man, complied and managed to flee unharmed. The suspects shot the other victim, a 33-year-old man of no fixed address, when he refused to comply with their demands.

The victim was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he is said to be in critical but stable condition. Both suspects are described as light-complexioned black males with medium builds and were wearing dark clothing.

One of the suspects is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a black hat. The other suspect is about 5 feet 11 inches tall. The suspects are possibly operating a burgundy Ford Explorer or GMC Jimmy sport-utility vehicle.
