Beginning the day with the boat fire at Breezy Point a bit after 8 a.m.,  (http://www.thebaynet.com/news/index.cfm/fa/viewstory/story_ID/14103), and multiple medical and accident calls throughout the day, Northern Calvert County was a hot spot for fire and rescue crews. The day culminated at approximately 10 p.m. when emergency first responders arrived at the scene where a vehicle fell over on a man who was believed to be working on the vehicle. The victim was entrapped under the vehicle for an estimated 30 minutes before the call went out. That victim was flown to PG Trauma on Trooper 2.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. there was a personal injury accident at State Road 260 and Boyds Turn Road in the North Beach area when two SUVs collided. In that case, North Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue squad arrived on the scene, treated a single patient and transported him to Calvert Memorial Hospital. The second victim signed a release.

Later that evening, first responders from Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to an auto accident on Dalrymple Road and Hardesty Road in Sunderland.

When first responders arrived at the scene they found a single vehicle that had gone off the road and backward over an embankment striking a tree. The impact caused the rear spoiler on the vehicle to break free and smash through the rear window and hit the driver in the head.

Rescue personnel treated the victim at the scene and then the patient was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
