Open year round, the great 25 yard wide, 25 meter long public pool at Great Mills is a great community asset open to everyone for fun, recreation and training. The pool is situated on St. Mary’s County-owned land adjacent to Great Mills High School.

According to Karen Everett, St. Mary’s County Government Public Information Officer, “We have a lot of users, but there is room for many more.” During the summer months, the pool is uncovered and then beginning in September, the pool is covered with an inflatable bubble so residents can enjoy the swimming all year long.

Besides offering great exercise, the pool is a great escape for families with a toddler pool, a bathhouse, lockers, restrooms and lifeguards on the premises. Passes to the pool are fairly inexpensive starting with daily admission of only $4 and annual passes available starting at only $160 with many other pricing packages and options.

Pool passes may be obtained by visiting the pool or the Recreation and Parks Main Office at 23150 Leonard Hall Drive in Leonardtown.

There are also many lessons and classes available throughout the year. Registration for classes and lessons can be made at the Great Mills Pool. The pool is also available for party rentals.

For more information, visit the pool at 21100 Great Mills Road in Great Mills, call (301) 866-6560 or visit http://www.co.saint-marys.md.us/recreate/facilities/swimmingpool.asp.
