Cable Bill Opened in Hollywood Woman's Name Reveals Identity Theft

On June 29,  at 3:08 p.m., Tpr. C. M. Evans responded to the 45000 block of Smith’s Nursery Road in Hollywood for the reported identity theft case. 

Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 75 of Hollywood.  She advised Tpr. Evans she received a telephone call from a collection agency on behalf of Direct TV concerning an unpaid bill.  During the course of the investigation, information received an unknown suspect opened a Direct TV account in the complainant’s name in Newark, DE on April 25, 2008 and failed to make any payments through October 27, 2008. 

The complainant was unfamiliar with anyone residing in Delaware area and she was reporting this identity theft. 

The investigation continues.
