On June 28, the victim was traveling northbound on Three Notch Road in the area of New Market Road when a green Ford pick-up began following her.  The truck followed so closely that the victim could not observe its headlights.  The victim was unable to pull over to allow the truck to pass due to traffic and no shoulder on the roadway.  At one point, the driver of the truck passed and pulled in front of the victim’s car and then slowed down below the speed limit.

At this point, the victim was able to read the license plate of the truck on the Ford F-150 truck.  The victim’s vehicle pulled along side the suspect’s vehicle at a traffic light.  The driver of the Ford truck pulled a rifle from the rear seat compartment and aimed it at the victim.  The light changed, the victim drove away and called 911.  The Ford truck was located at the shopping center on Mohawk Drive Mechanicsville.

The operator of the truck was identified as Nicholas Wayne Weekley, 19 of Mechanicsville.  A .22 caliber rifle was laying in plain view on the backseat of the truck.

Weekley was arrested and charged with first and second-degree assault.
