Metrocast Communications is introducing a brand new way help parents control the viewing habits of young children with the Child Safe Cricket Remote.
The colorful and fun remote control, which works on all Metrocast boxes, is designed with kids in mind. More important, the remote is preset with only eight select programming channels suitable for children. With the remote, no other channels may be accessed.
Parents may give the child his or her own remote and be comfortable in the knowledge that the child will only have access to the channels preselected and not be subjected to violence or other inappropriate material.
One parent reports that after seeing her four-year-old child work with the remote, that it is a ‘Godsend.’ “There are no hassles, and we don’t have to worry about any of the programming. My daughter could switch between all her favorite shows. It is just great,” she said. “It even worked on all out sets and my daughter had a great time watching her favorite shows.”
With the remote, the child may turn the set off and on, adjust the volume and switch between channels without ever seeing inappropriate programming. Once the parents are ready to watch television, the main remote takes control of the set and the programming.
The new Child Safe Remote only costs $14.99 and can be picked up at Metrocast Communications offices located on Airport View Dr. in California any weekday during normal business hours. However, Metrocast states that the remote is free to those who subscribe or who upgrade to their digital service.
The remote comes with a complete users guide to help parents ensure the safety of viewing children.
