On June 21 at 11:55 p.m., a Charles County Sheriff’s officer initiated a traffic stop in the 6600 block of Crain Highway in La Plata after learning the tags on the vehicle were suspended.

The driver of the car, James Christopher Fowler, 27 of Newburg, pulled over but ran from the car. The officer apprehended Fowler where a computer check revealed he had an open warrant for failing to appear in court, driving with a suspended license and driving a motor vehicle with suspended registration plates.

Officer S. Fulton made the arrest.
