The Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival has long been considered the most unique and intimate jazz experience in Southern Maryland. The event is slated for Saturday, July 11 at the St. Clement’s Island Museum in Colton’s Point and will honor Maryland's 375th birthday by showcasing only the finest Maryland jazz artists and Maryland seafood specialties! This riverside event is presented by the Friends of the St. Clement's Island and Piney Point Museums and takes place on the lawn of the museum that overlooks historic St. Clement's Island, birthplace of Maryland. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser will benefit museum education programs, projects, exhibits, matching grants, etc. Jazz artists include the Ruby Hayes Jazz & Blues Band at 4 pm, Smooth Jazz sax man Jaared at 6 pm, and the amazing jazz/R&B talents of Art Sherrod, Jr. at 8 pm. Vendors include Lenny's Restaurant, Bear Creek Open Pit BBQ, Circle “C” Oyster Ranch, Hawaiian Joe's, and Bruster's Real Ice Cream serving up this year's Celebrate Maryland's 375 cake batter ice cream! Tickets are $50 in advance, $45 for museum members, and $60 at the gate if available. Only 800 tickets are available and a sellout will leave no tickets for sale at the gate. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. Ticket price includes free parking, admission to the museum and an optional boat excursion to St. Clement’s Island where the newly-constructed replica of the Blackistone Lighthouse will be open for tours. Tickets can be purchased by calling the St. Clement’ Island Museum at (301) 769-2222 or going to the website at www.stmarysmd.com/recreate/museums. The Friends of the St. Clement’s Island and Piney Point Museums would like to acknowledge the following sponsors and supporters for their generous contributions to this cultural event: The St. Mary's County Arts Council; The Show Place Arena; Maryland Life Magazine; W.M. Davis, Inc.; Gutter Helmet Systems; Lenny's Restaurant/Sleep Inn & Suites; Bozick Distributors; Cafe Des Artistes; Community Bank of Tri-County; Law Office of A.
