Museum Fundraiser Offers Irresistible Combo of Jazz and Seafood
ST. MARY'S COUNTY - 6/22/2009
The Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival has long been considered the most unique and intimate jazz experience in Southern Maryland. The event is slated for Saturday, July 11 at the St. Clement’s Island Museum in Colton’s Point and will honor Maryland's 375th birthday by showcasing only the finest Maryland jazz artists and Maryland seafood specialties!
This riverside event is presented by the Friends of the St. Clement's Island and Piney Point Museums and takes place on the lawn of the museum that overlooks historic St. Clement's Island, birthplace of Maryland. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser will benefit museum education programs, projects, exhibits, matching grants, etc.
Jazz artists include the Ruby Hayes Jazz & Blues Band at 4 pm, Smooth Jazz sax man Jaared at 6 pm, and the amazing jazz/R&B talents of Art Sherrod, Jr. at 8 pm.
