The weather has turned warm and the Chesapeake Bay is once again producing blue crabs. Life is good here in Southern Maryland. To celebrate, the Leonardtown Lions Club held their annual Crab Festival, a celebration of St. Mary's Crab Culture and Cooking on June 14.

The festival featured all things crabby including mounds and mounds of delicious hot steamed blue crabs. Other events included a  car show, demonstrations, country music and dancing. Great food was had by all including: hard crabs, crab soups, crab cakes, and other seafood dishes.

After gorging on crabs, attendees were able to browse among the regional crafters in search of that special, handmade gift or item with a 'Crabby' theme. Patrons at the Crab Festival were treated to the sights and sounds of local dance studio teams, the long-time crowd-pleasing Chesapeake Country Cruisers line dance team and live country music from local legends "Southbound."

One hundred percent of all Crab Festival Proceeds go to Local and International Lions Club Community Service Programs such as: Leader Dogs, Vision Support, Free Vision Screening and much more!.

Overall, it was a great time had by all!
