The Calvert County Board of Education is accepting applications for its 2009-2010 Citizen Advisory Committee. Twenty-five citizens are appointed annually. The committee conducts studies in areas of concern to the Board of Education; provides community insight into pending policies and decisions before the Board; receives information on the management and plans currently being implemented or which are under consideration by the Board or Superintendent’s Office; and provides individuals to serve on ad hoc committees pertaining to the school district. Interested citizens can obtain an application by calling Karen Maxey at 410-535-7220 or on the Calvert County Public Schools website at http://www.calvertnet.k12.md.us/departments/administration/cac/cac.asp. Applicants must be residents of Calvert County. The Board will begin making appointments in August.
