The Southern Maryland Wedding Guide is looking for a local newlywed couple to appear on the cover of its next digital magazine.

And whoever wins will also receive a grand slam prize package that includes tickets for a skybox suite for 25 at an up-coming Southern Maryland Blue Crabs game.

Couples who were married in one of the Southern Maryland counties -- Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s or St. Mary’s – by June 5, are eligible to enter. They can submit up to two vertical, color photographs. A photography release is also required; the release and complete rules are available at SoMdWeddings.com.

“We love featuring local couples in our magazine,” said Founder and CEO Kimberly Bean. “Brides love to read about weddings where they live, and couples are always happy to share advice and vendor recommendations.

“Plus, our cover photographs often showcase the beautiful scenery in Southern Maryland.”

The entry period closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 5. A panel of judges will select their favorite entries, and those photographs will be put up for vote on SoMdWeddings.com.

The winners of the contest will get more than their picture on the cover of the Summer/Fall edition of the twice-yearly digital magazine. They will also receive a poster of their cover, use of a skybox suite for themselves and 23 friends at an up-coming Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball game, local restaurant gift certificates, and more.

Voters have a chance to win, too – the first 1,000 voters will be entered into a drawing for a Blue Crabs skybox suite for 25 at an up-coming game.

“Going to a baseball game is a great way to celebrate with your attendants, family and friends,” Bean said. “Couples can relax and enjoy themselves during the busy days before their wedding.”

The Southern Maryland Wedding Guide is published twice each year and features stories about local weddings, vendors and wedding trends. The all-digital magazine includes video and live email and web links. Planning tools and tips and an extensive reception site guide make the magazine a must-have for Southern Maryland brides.

The Summer/Fall edition of the magazine will be available for download at SoMdWeddings.com later this summer.

SoMdWeddings.com debuted in December 2002 and averages 40,000 to 50,000 page views per month. The site launched a major redesign in January 2009.
