Man Takes Children on High-Speed Chase

HOLLYWOOD - 5/20/2009

At approximately 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, a State Trooper in the area of St. Johns Road in Hollywood witnessed an older model black Ford Crown Victoria traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour. The suspect’s car appeared to witnesses as an older Police Cruiser.

The trooper gave chase south on Three Notch Road and onto Chancellor’s Run where the speeding suspect temporarily eluded capture.
 
The suspect was located in the Hickory Hills subdivision and was subsequently arrested. When he was captured, police discovered that the suspect had two very young children in the car who were not restrained. Arrested was Antwaun Somerville, 19 who was taken into custody by Maryland State Police.
 
Disposition of the children's status is not known at this time. Multiple charges are pending.
More details to follow as they are released by the State Police.

Can you clarify...
So was he on 235 in the area of St. John's Road or was he actually on St. John's Road? If he was on St. John's Road and doing 100 mph I'm suprised he didn't end up in a tree.

So glad to see you on here again. I agree, I too am a bit confused with the . I live in the area and would bet money that even the most experienced drivers wouldnt last long on St Johns road at 100mph. Hope to talk to you again.

in the area of St. Johns since they found him in Hickory Hills.. So I would guess he was on 235 around the area of St. Johns.. Because just like you said, if he was going 100mph on St. Johns, he wouldnt have gotten far lol

Common thing in many areas. Bad guys buy used police vehicles at auctions with the thought that there is less likelihood of being stopped.

It didn't look like he supped up his car with big wheels. I don't see any chrome just black rims which are standard on cop cars. But he is an idiot for going over 100 mph on any road. Whoever was on 235 was lucky that he kept control of his car.

Picture number 8 made me laugh out loud. I know I'm showing my age but he looks like Mr. Ed. (Of course I only watched the re-runs)

so first of all my brother sold this car to antwaun. my brother did NOT "supe" anything up on the car. so maybe you should look, there is not one % of tent onthose windows or big wheels. it was like that when e got it. wow!!!

Was the car not supped up to run from the police and endanger peoples lives on the streets as well as his children? Even yourself Sarah. The facts are clear it was sold to someone doing something illegal and most likely purchased with illegal money.

This jerk should be sent to prison for a very long time. We need to be tough on people like this so that others will fear the consequences of acting in this manner. I feel sorry for the kids..what kind of life are they going to have with a father like that.

it says IN THE AREA OF St. John's road. Doesn't say he was on it. It does say he was traveling down 235. So there ya go.

I tried being nice and it sucks. I cant do it after reading some of these posts! Why should he be in prison for a very long time? Because he was speeding with kids in the car? How about revoking his license for a long time? How about making him do some community service. How about making him go on some accident calls with EMT's and make him pick up body parts if there is a horrific accident. Nah, that makes too much sense. Lets put him in prison where he will just hone his criminal skills to a level that will be more destructive. If he was white, I guarantee you that the posts on here would be alot different. I'm sure some of you rednecks will make some idiotic replies to this post but we all know I'm speaking the truth. Deal with it.

Bad Judgement...
You all dont even know this boy. Yeah he is young, and he made a bad choice, but he is a good person and a wonderful father. I know him personally and he didnt have a lisence, maybe thats why he ran, but i know for a fact he wasnt going a hundred miles an hour before the chase pursued. Maybe he was scared of what was going to happen to the kids and wasnt thinking at the moment, you all need to find a better hobby than sitting on the computer putting people down that you dont even know and worry about your selves and your own familys. How do you know for a fact that he was not doing 100 before the chase, were you sitting in the drivers seat looking at the speedometer?

After seeing all the comments I must say that if you do the crime you must do the time. A few days in jail would do some good; some community service should be in order. Black and white is not an issue in this case no matter what color, could have possibly killed someone and endangering children is a no no. We all have made dumb mistakes.

You people are killin' me (as usual).....race is not a factor in these idiotic actions. You are NOT a "wonderful father", as someone said, if you take your children along for your illegal activities. Come on folks...stick to the subject at hand. Sarah, do you really think we care if you brother sold him the car? Common sense here...WE DON'T! Soup, Sup, Super...whatever...again...that doesn't have anything to do with the article unless your thought process can not speak about what he did and what he deserves. Prison time...not. Two or three days would make no difference to a red, green, blue, white or black person. Why? Because if you care that little for children that you would get behind the wheel of a car and drive that fast...you didn't care at all what would happen to them.

For the person that said...oh poor, poor feel sorry for this guy....give me a break!! HE DOES NOT CARE FOR HIS CHILDREN. Thank God a car did not pull in front of him and they were thrown from the car...would you still be "stupid" enough to make that comment??? He wasn't going that fast at first? Now that was a smart thought...you've got to start off slow at some point. Afraid to stop? Acting like you are 3 and looking like it are two totally different things and this brainless dad did not look 3.

Do I have any other feel sorry for this guy in the house? Do let him go to the scene of a terrible accident, but one catch....let it be a child...let him feel what it would be have been like.
