The Community Foundation of Charles County invites all of Southern Maryland to experience a visual tour of the entire Potomac River region through the eyes of the most acclaimed wildfowl carvers and wildlife artists from the region.

The event will be held at the La Plata campus of the College of Southern Maryland on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16. Attendees will be able to meet the artists who bring the wild alive—see waterman with their tongs oystering in a nearby river ; watch osprey swoop down to catch their fish of the day; sit quietly next to a blue heron as the sun sets along the St. Mary’s River and much, much more. 

“Take a break from Wall Street and join the fun at our third annual Potomac Wildlife Art Show from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday,” said Gretchen Heinze Hardman, Executive Director of CFCC.

For only $35.00 per person, patrons of the arts will be able to mingle with the artists, enjoy cocktails and dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse and watch the recognition of grant awards.

Tickets for the Friday reception must be purchased in advance. Saturday, admission is free. Judging begins at noon for the working decoy competition; folks can buy artwork directly from the artists, learn style and technique demos and even learn about geo-caching! Proceeds will not only support the Community Foundation and its Grant program, but a portion will support the newly created Scholarship Fund supporting the Arts at the CSM.
