TheBAYNET.com's Pet of the Week Paying Dividends for Lonely Animals
SOUTHERN MARYLAND - 5/4/2009

TheBAYNET.com began our Pet of the Week section about a month ago where each week we feature a pet in need of adoption. To date, two featured pets have been adopted! TBN’s first pet profiled, Brownee has been adopted by a Lusby family. Here is their account of the experience. “We are a family of four: Matt, Belinda, Calvin, and Connor, with a 7 year old black Labrador Retriever, Corey, and currently live in Lusby. Our family is very excited to welcome Cleo, a.k.a. Brownee, into our home. She is an amazingly smart, sweet, and energetic dog. “We first saw her about 6 weeks ago on pet adoption day at Pepper’s Pet Pantry in Solomon’s. It was love at first sight for my husband and our boys, ages 10 and 11. They would have adopted her immediately but I didn’t want to make any hasty decisions. I know that adopting an animal is a commitment for life and a huge responsibility. It was imperative that we thought this through carefully. “The application process included her meeting Corey at our home which went well. We then anxiously awaited final approval and for her to brought to our home permanently. On April 11, she arrived with her signature pink bandana and her tail wagging franticly. Of course there is going to be an adjustment period but the end result has been extremely rewarding. “There is an unfortunate stigma that follows Cleo’s breed, pitbull/lab. The all too familiar saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” comes to mind. So many “Cleo’s” waiting to be adopted are out there and they just need a chance to be loved and have a caring home. “Cleo has finally found her lifelong home and is loved dearly.” A second pet has been adopted in recent days as well. Keep watching TBN’s Pet of the Week section for another cuddly animal just waiting to come home with you. |
