Woman Killed Crossing Street

On April 17 at 8:24 p.m., Sara Laureen Smith, 44 of Waldorf, was crossing the street at Smallwood Drive West near St. Patrick’s Drive in Waldorf when she was struck by a Mitsubishi Gallant that was traveling west on Smallwood Drive.
The driver of the car remained on the scene and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she died several hours later.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing.
