Hit and Run Driver Arrested After Fleeing Accident Scene

On April 13, at 11:06 p.m., Calvin Dilmera Berry, 25 of Leonardtown, was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for second-degree assault. 

Tpr. Thompson responded to the 20000 block of Poplar Ridge Road in Lexington Park for the reported hit and run accident.  Contact was made with the female complainant, 20 of Lexington Park.  She advised Berry side swiped her vehicle on Military Lane in California earlier that night.  A broadcast was made through the 911 Center and Berry was observed operating his vehicle on Newtowne Neck Road in Leonardtown by Tpr. W. Jefferson. 

Berry was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
