CHARLES COUNTY - 4/3/2009

On March 30 at 5:20 p.m., a Charles County Sheriff’s officer initiated a traffic stop near Gallant Green Road and Bassford Road after observing a traffic violation – the tags displayed on the vehicle were not issued to that car.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled for approximately one mile. As the driver attempted to make a turn, he lost control of the car and struck an embankment. He was apprehended without further incident. A computer check revealed the driver, David Brain Makle, 43 of Brandywine, had two open warrants. In addition, marijuana was found inside his car.

Makle was charged with fleeing and eluding and possession of drugs.
