At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Monday, March 23, the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad had a report of an auto accident at Rt. 260 and Jewell Road.

This was the second accident at this intersection within three days.  The last accident on Friday had a fatality and this accident involved a charter bus service that transported Calvert County residents into Washington DC.

There were two injuries that required transport to Calvert Memorial Hospital.  One was from the car struck by the bus and the other was a passenger on the bus.

There were four cars and bus involved in this accident.  It appeared that when the bus made contact with the first car, it was pushed into the other cars waiting on Brickhouse Road.

Authorities are investigating the cause of this accident and more details will follow as they are released.
