ST. MARY'S COUNTY - 3/8/2009

The Business, Education and Community Alliance, Inc., known simply as BECA, a local non-profit, was founded in 1989 at the request of the Chamber of Commerce and Superintendent of Schools.  The objective was to bring together business and community leaders interested in working more closely with our local school system to improve student success.  BECA has continued to support local schools, both public and private, without interruption ever since.

On Friday, March 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., BECA is holding a 20th Anniversary recognition dinner and benefit auction at and hosted by the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California.  The fee is $25 per person and covers the cost of dinner, beverages, and a memorable time with friends.  The evening's program includes a silent and live auction conducted by County Commissioner Dan Raley.  All proceeds collected at the auction will go to fund local scholarships for 2009 graduating St. Mary's County high school seniors.

If you are interesting in attending, wish to donate an item for the auction, or want to learn more about BECA, please contact Bob or Wendy Schaller at (301) 475-2068 or schaller@md.metrocast.net
