Masked Gunman Orders McDonald's Employees into Freezer During Robbery Attempt

On March 2, at approximately 9:56 p.m, a masked gunman entered the McDonald’s Express located at 7925 Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach. The business was occupied at the time by two employees who were ordered to enter the freezer. 

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 30’s , between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, medium to thin build. The suspect demanded money from the store manager and appeared to be carrying  a sawed-off shotgun, he then left the scene on foot. No one was injured during the robbery. An unknown amount of currency was stolen.  

An extensive search was conducted by the road-patrol and K-9 officers from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police which ended in negative results. Trooper 2 was also called in to assist with the search for the suspect. This investigation is being continued by Det. Rich of CIT.
