Local Couple Wins It Big at Key West Race Week

Linda and John Edwards of Solomons, Awarded the Paul Washburn Award

Southern Maryland Sailing Association's very own Mama & Papa Punch, John and Linda Edwards of Solomons, recently won several awards at Acura Key West Race Week from Jan. 19 thru Jan. 23 in Key West, Florida . They started the week prior to any racing by being awarded the great honor of receiving the Paul Washburn Award.
Rhumb Punch, supported by numerous SMSA members, went on to win the Farr 30 class for the week!
Congratulations to John and Linda and their crew of SMSA members; Clarke & Mary Anne McKinney, Shawn & Laura Stanley, and Joe Szymanski and Sandy Leitner. Also sailing on the boat was their son-in-law Tom Weaver and long-time Rhumb Punch crew member Geoff Rhodes.
Way to represent Southern Maryland!
