On Feb. 10, at approximately 3 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Bishop Lane in Mechanicsville. 

Preliminary investigation reveals a 15-year-old female reported being assaulted by a 47-year-old male, suspect.  While the 15-year-old was fleeing the residence the suspect fired several shots into the air outside of the residence.  The suspect was located and taken to the hospital for un-related medical treatment.  He remains hospitalized. 

The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded and assumed the investigation.  The suspect’s name is not being released at this time because he has not been formally charged. 

Investigation is continuing – charges are pending.
