Punxsutawney Phil Runs and Hides
PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA - 2/2/2009
|
The sun crept above the horizon in the hamlet of Punxsutawney in PA this morning while thousands awaited the outcome the yearly ritual as the famous groundhog’s handlers announced that the world’s most famous rodent had seen his shadow and ducked back into his lair in order to keep away from another six long weeks of winter. The ritual seems predictable considering Punxsutawney Phil and his predecessors have seen their shadow more than 89 percent of the time and winter always seems to last until mid-March, regardless of whether or not a shadow was seen. |
