Drugs, Dealers off St. Mary's Streets

A search and seizure warrant was executed on the home of Joseph “Bubby” Darnell Ransom in Mechanicsville. As a result of a drug investigation, that lasted nearly two months, it was determined that prescription medications were being sold from the home. Suspect Joseph Darnell Ransom III,19, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of methadone, possession of marijuana and related smoking devices. There will be two other persons charged in this case with misdemeanor drug possession. Additional charges against suspect ransom are pending a State’s Attorney’s Office review. A search warrant at a Lexington Park Apartment Complex led to the arrest of Lee Kidwell Clark, 22, for possession of marijuana and related smoking devices. A 16-year-old male was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was released to a guardian pending a hearing in the Juvenile Court. Alan Michael McAllister, 22 of California, was arrested after he was found to be in possession of marijuana and a related smoking device while present at a search warrant that was executed by Vice Narcotics Detectives. Steve Lovell Thomas, 38 of Lexington Park, was arrested after being indicted by Vice Narcotics Detectives. Suspect Thomas had multiple felony cocaine drug distribution warrants as well as a warrant for failure to pay child support. Catherine Burnette Davis, 48 of Lexington Park, was arrested on an open warrant obtained by Vice Narcotics Detectives through the District Court for illegal possession of prescription medication. A search warrant was obtained for a vehicle that was being operated by Maurice Terrell Kent, 25 of Great Mills. Suspect Kent became a target of drug distribution as a result of several other investigations. He was found to be in possession of marijuana and nearly $1,200 in cash was seized. Additional charges are pending a State’s Attorney’s Office review.
