|
Calvert County and St. Mary's County firefighters had a busy afternoon on Sunday, Feb. 1 after battling a Lusby house fire. Close to 50 Firefighters from Solomons, St. Leonard, Hollywood and Bay District responded to the 11600 block of Side Winder Lane for the report of fire in a one-story wood frame dwelling. Investigation revealed, the daughter was cooking and when the contents of the pan caught fire, she attempted to take the burning pan outside. In doing so, the decking caught fire causing over $400,000 in damage. No injuries were reported. The family has been displaced and are being assisted by family and friends. The preliminary cause of the fire appears to be accidental. |
