Teen Shooting Victim Released from Children's Hospital

The 13-year-old victim of the accidental shooting, which occurred in Hollywood, on Jan. 31 was released from Children’s Hospital on Feb. 3 . On Saturday, Jan. 31, at approximately 2:43 p.m., officers from the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack and St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to 25275 Sotterley Road in Hollywood for a reported accidental shooting. At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, Maryland State Police and Advanced Life Support along with fire and rescue units from Hollywood and Leonardtown responded to a gun shot victim reported at 25275 Sotterley Road in Hollywood. When first responders arrived they discovered a juvenile male, 13-years-old had been shot in the upper torso and was seriously injured. Trooper 2 was called and the boy was transported to Children's Hospital. At this writing, MSP is reporting that the gun shot is being treated as an accidental shooting, Authorities are awaiting word from Children's Hospital on the boy's condition at this time. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
