The Charles County Division of Parks & Recreation hosted the 2009 Winter Classic Basketball Tournament sponsored by Chick-Fil-A of St. Charles Towne Center Jan. 9 thru Jan. 11. With approximately 340 players on 34 teams, participating in four different age groups, the competition was fierce. It was a great day for everyone, filled with fun and basketball!
 
Parks & Recreation would like to send a special thanks to all of the parents, coaches, and officials who made this event such a special one.

The winning teams were the Tar Heals coached by Randy Sullivan in the 8-9 Boys age group; the Badgers coached by Freddie Jones in the 10-11 Boys age group; the Sooners coached by Anthony Williams in the 12-13 Boys age group; and the Lady Bearcats coached by George Reid in the 11-14 Girls age group.
