Governor Martin O’Malley will deliver the 2009 State of the State address Thursday, Jan. 29 and over the course of the following weeks will hold a series of local town hall meetings to discuss the state of Maryland’s economy and public education system.

I hear everyday from Maryland families who continue to struggle to make ends meet,” said Governor O’Malley.  “I look forward to traveling across our One Maryland to hear directly from Maryland’s families and talk about the services and programs that are in place to provide assistance during these tough times.”

Members of Governor O’Malley’s Cabinet will also be in attendance and access to State services will be available onsite.  This availability includes information on foreclosure aid services, assistance for seniors and the disabled, higher education financial aid, the Maryland Energy Assistance Program, transportation discount and credit aid, employment services, health services, veterans’ opportunities, and much more.  A full list of State services that are available can be found at problemsolver.maryland.gov.

“In the year ahead we have many difficult decisions as we work to protect our prioritieslike our #1 ranked public schools – and provide services to families in need,” Governor O’Malley said.  “These town halls will allow the citizens of Maryland to come together to learn about the various programs and services our state provides."
