On Tuesday, Dec, 23, the Calvert Marine Museum hosted three fun-filled sessions for children to come and create Gingerbread Lighthouses. There were about 12 kids in each class. For a small fee, each child was given the materials to make a Gingerbread House, which included an upside down ice cream cone used as the lighthouse, frosting, and different types of candy, all combined to create their masterpieces. To top off their Lighthouses excited and happy children used yellow or orange gumdrops to create the effect of the light. This was the first Christmas that the Calvert Marine Museum has held its class to Create Gingerbread Lighthouses. |
