St. Mary’s County Senior Activity Centers will be closed and there will be no Meals on Wheels Delivery on Thursday, Dec. 25; Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009.

The Northern Senior Activity Center will be closed for two days for the Christmas holiday, so your last hurrah is on Dec. 24! Come in and work up an appetite with indoor bowling at 9:30 a.m. followed by a delicious holiday lunch of baked chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. Your lunch reservation must be received by noon on Dec. 23, by calling (301) 475-4002 ext.1005. The cost for lunch is $5 for those under age 60 and a donation amount for ages 60 and older.

On Mondays you can learn to knit or get some tutoring help if you are re-learning to knit. Or you can bring your yarn and needles and enjoy this art in the company of friends- perhaps you can offer a tip or two. Knit Nuts meets every Monday at 10 a.m. in the lounge. Play bunco, win prizes, and eat pizza! The Bunco Pizza Party will be held at the Garvey Senior Center on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 10:30 a.m. Reserve lunch 24 hours in advance by calling (301) 475-4200 ext. 1062. The cost for lunch is by donation for seniors 60 and older; $5 for individuals under 60.
