Route 5 Information Open House Dec. 10

The State Highway Administration will be hosting an information open house regarding the Project Planning Study for MD Route 5 between MD Route 243 and MD Route 245 near Leonardtown. This is a self-paced, walk through open house where citizens can view project plans. There is no formal presentation. Traffic engineers will be on hand to answer questions. The general public encouraged to attend. Area residents, business and property owners and commuters who use MD Route 5 in the Leonardtown area are especially encouraged to attend. The open house will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department – Fire Hall located at 22733 Lawrence Ave. in Leonardtown. The MD Route 5 Project Planning Study was initiated in January 2007. Since then, SHA has gathered significant data and commenced detailed environmental and traffic studies. This meeting will provide the public with updates on the planning process, purpose and need, preliminary alternatives and potential environmental impacts associated with this project. Comments on any aspect of this project or process are welcome. |
