Meat Lover Steals Steaks from McKay's

On Dec. 2, at 5:45 p.m., Michael Darnell Thompson, 44 of Mechanicsville, was arrested by Tpr. W. Jefferson for theft under $500. 

At 5:30 p.m., Thompson was inside McKay’s Store in Hollywood and observed concealing items in his shirt. When he exited the store he was observed placing the stolen items in the back of his tan Toyota truck.  As a lookout was provided by the St. Mary’s Emergency Communications, Tpr. Gresko observed and initiated a traffic stop on Point Lookout Road, in the area of Moakley Street in Leonardtown on the vehicle.  Thompson had in his possession steaks from the meat department.  Total cost of the steaks was $146.52. 

Thompson was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
