Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 7 Solomons will be celebrating the 24th Annual Christmas Walk. The annual event honors the spirit of the holidays in the quaint Chesapeake Bay village.  During the festival there will be events for all ages.

Attendees will stroll through luminary lit streets while enjoying beautiful holiday decorations and many fun family activities.

The festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Friday evening at the Riverwalk gazebo. There guests will welcome Santa for carols and a tree lighting ceremony. As planned, the evening will be filled with special children's activities, a live puppet show and open houses at many businesses.

Festival goers will also be able to enjoy many Christmas crafts, a live puppet show, shopping, refreshments, entertainment, fine dining, pet adoptions and the decorations that bring the Solomons area to life for the holidays. Click here for an event schedule and map.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, boaters are invited to participate in the Solomons Yacht Club Christmas Light Parade. Weather permitting; the Light Parade will begin at approximately 6:15 pm from the Solomons Island Yacht Club. After the Light Parade, the boats can be seen from many of Solomons' restaurants as they travel up Back Creek. There will be prizes awarded for the first power boat, first sailboat and best overall. However, all participating boat owners will receive a festive holiday gift.

Finally, the weekend will conclude with a Gala on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Naughty Gull Restaurant. Everyone is welcome to join the festive evening of great food and beverages plus a silent auction. The cost of the event is $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door.
