Man Cited as Smoke Emits from Vehicle

On Nov. 24, at 1:05 a.m., John Edward Butler Jr., 33 of Mechanicsville, was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of marijuana.  Butler was operating a black Chevrolet Suburban when he was stopped for a traffic violation.  Contact was made with the driver, Butler and a moderate odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.  Butler was found to be in possession of a metal grinder containing marijuana.  Butler was issued a criminal citation and was released at the scene with a preliminary inquiry date.

Homer77 12/3/2008 at 8:47 AM Where? I am sorry. I missed the part where smoke emits from the vehicle in your article. I read the part about the moderate odor and the metal grinder containing marijuana but I can't find the part about the smoke. Because marijuana does have a distinct odor without being burned I can understand how the Tpr detected the presence what with the grinder being there. Did something get edited out after the headline was written? Or is somebody trying to embellish the story with an exaggerated headline? Reply to This Comment
