Commissioners Propose Public Transit Reduction

The proposed changes are scheduled to go into effect on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009. Copies of updated schedules are available by contacting the Public Transportation office at (410) 535-4510. In accordance with Maryland Transit Administration requirements, any jurisdiction that proposes a reduction in transportation services, including the deletion or major alteration of a route, must provide an opportunity for a public hearing. Citizens desiring a public hearing on these proposed changes may submit a written request to Calvert County Public Transportation, 175 Main Street in Prince Frederick by 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 29. Should a public hearing be requested, it will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room, Courthouse, 175 Main Street in Prince Frederick. An interpreter will be provided for the deaf and hearing impaired persons provided that a timely request is made by calling 1-800-735-2258.
