Man Beats Women, Racking up the Charges

On Nov. 28, deputies responded to Indian Bridge Road in Great Mills for a report of a domestic assault. As deputies were responding, a lookout was broadcasted for a Geoffrey Scott Welcome, 46 of Great Mills, the suspect in the domestic assault, operating a white Toyota Camry.
Welcome had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Deputy First Class K. Moritz observed the vehicle on Indian Bridge Road traveling at speeds in excess of 75 to 80 mph. Dfc. Moritz activated his emergency equipment and attempted to stop the vehicle. Welcome fled and attempted to elude Dfc. Moritz. During the pursuit, Welcome committed numerous traffic violations. Welcome’s vehicle was eventually stopped. Geoffrey Welcome had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage upon his breath and person.
The domestic assault investigation revealed Geoffrey Welcome assaulted two female victims by punching them in the face. Welcome was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, DWI, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license and fleeing and eluding police.
