On Monday, Nov. 24, St. Mary’s Public School Superintendent, Dr. Michael J. Martirano rolled up his sleeves and catered to the children of George Washington Carver Elementary School in the spirit of the holiday season.

Children were all smiles as the affable superintendent served a scrumptious Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings.

“I enjoyed serving lunch to our students at George Washington Carver Elementary School.  This was a very

positive and rich experience,” said Martirano.

“Our cafeteria staff, in each one of our schools, does an outstanding job every day.  I was delighted to see so many happy children as they were eating their Thanksgiving lunch.”

Martirano went on to state that the best part of his job is interacting with students.  “I am thankful that we have such a great school system where students are nurtured and educated by teachers, principals and staff that are second to none.”
