Ladies Caught with Pot Between the Seats

On Nov. 23, Deputy First Class K. Moritz stopped a vehicle operated by Lisa Paulette Barnes, 39 of Prince William, Va., for speeding.  A computer records check revealed Lisa Barnes had an outstanding bench warrant for her arrest.  During the initial contact with Lisa Barnes and her passenger, Valerie Ann Barnes, 42 of Great Mills, Dfc. Moritz could smell an odor of suspected marijuana.  Lisa Barnes was arrested for the open warrant.  Search incident to Lisa Barnes’ arrest revealed a small bag of suspected marijuana between the driver and front passenger’s seats.  Both Valerie Barnes and Lisa Barnes were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance – marijuana.
