HISTORIC ST. MARY'S CITY - 11/28/2008
|
Welcome the holidays with a blazing fire, the company of friends and seasonal harmonies at Maryland’s first capital. The annual community concert featuring St. Maries Musica will take place at the State House of 1676 in Historic St. Mary’s City, on Wednesday, Dec. 3. St. Maries Musica, a local troupe of colorfully costumed and highly skilled musicians will offer traditional Christmas aires, contemporary favorites and opportunities to sing along. The group is known for their lively performances at the museum’s madrigal dinners and area churches. Fresh greens and candlelight will set the stage with a casual elegance. The Mistress Brent Garden Club is continuing their 25-year tradition of adorning the State House for holiday guests. This year’s theme is The Journey. Nautical details commemorate the voyage of the Ark and the Dove from England to Maryland 375 years ago. Visitors are likely to find inspiration for their decorating in these well-decked halls.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Come early to enjoy the decorations and light refreshments. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. For more information, call (240) 895-4960 or visit www.stmaryscity.org.
