All Department of Aging offices and Senior Activity Centers will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, with no Meals on Wheels Delivery. We are looking for gift donations for this event. If you have new, gift items (even toys) you have purchased or things you made, but have never given away, perhaps you would enjoy donating them to our Christmas bingo collection. Donations are gratefully accepted at Loffler Senior Activity Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call (301) 737.5670 ext. 1655 Once a month, (date varies to meet volunteer’s schedule) we would like to offer a simple seasonal/holiday craft at our center. Currently a staff member is scheduled to conduct these sessions, but it would be wonderful if someone who loves crafts would share his/her talents by teaching a favorite holiday idea. A volunteer is not required to take on a project every month- perhaps you only like to do Easter crafts but someone else likes to do 4thof July projects. Northern Senior Activity Center 29655 Charlotte Hall Rd., Charlotte Hall (301) 475-4002 ext. 1001 On Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m., meet Mike O’Brien, a licensed P.T., will be on hand at the Northern Senior Activity Center to staff the exercise room. Mike will offer assistance in the proper use of the exercise equipment and will give tips on proper exercise techniques to avoid injuries. Pizza, salad, fruit, milk, and juice are a favorite at the Northern Senior Activity Center’s Bunco Pizza party day on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Cost is $1. The fun begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and bunco games to follow. The cost for lunch is by donation for seniors 60 and older; $5 for individuals under 60.
