Man Arrested for Stealing from Relative

On Nov. 6, Deputy M. Green of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department began a theft investigation. Investigation revealed John Kory Koegel, 20 of Lexington Park, stole various checks and a credit card owned by the victim, a relative, and from Aug. 2 until Nov. 5, forged the victim’s signature on several checks and used the victim’s Visa bank card to purchase gift cards from business within St. Mary’s County. The loss value from the checks cashed is over $850 and the loss value for the credit card purchases is $900. Koegel was arrested and charged with four counts of theft and one count of theft scheme. |
