The Charles County Commissioners and the County Administrator have started a food drive to benefit the Southern Maryland Food Bank. Your help is desperately needed by the food bank.

County Commissioners have been notified that they have run out of food and have been forced to close their doors.

Beginning at noon, Friday, October 17, the media relations office will be traveling to each of the county government buildings to pickup any of the food that is collected.

With your help, the commissioners hope that the doors of the Southern Maryland Food Bank will never close again.

If you are able to help, please drop of donations at the Charles County Government Building located at 200 Baltimore Street in La Plata.
