TheBAYNET.com loves a good ghost story as much as our readers. That is why we are creating the most extravagant “Halloween Spooktacular” ever! We can do that, because we know TBN readers love to get involved, and involved they will be!

On Friday, Oct. 24, the whole day will be dedicated to reader supplied stories about spooks, ghosts, goblins, ghouls, witches and more. TBN will post one story every hour as a main spotlight. TBN readers get to use the comments section under each story to rate the story and vote for their favorite. At the end of the day, TBN will announce the winner.

All chosen contestants will receive a free Papa Johns Pizza for their efforts. Dust off your scary story and join the fun!

There are also categories for best Halloween essay, story or poem sent in from students in elementary, middle and high school.

Here’s how the Halloween Spooktacular contest works:

Adult Category – Send us your favorite, most well written original ghost/Halloween story between now and Oct. 22. Stories must be of your own creation, although they can be fiction or from experience.

Adult entrants must supply their names and contact information with the story submission.

School Age Children – Elementary – TBN encourages elementary schools to submit original stories either from individuals or as a class project. The best story, as judged by editors at TBN will win some fantastic prizes! If the winner is a class entry, then that entire class wins!

Middle and High School – The rules for middle and high school children are the same for the adult category, but students must identify which school they attend.

Elementary, Middle, and High School entries must be accompanied by appropriate teacher contact information. There is no need to include the students name unless the student has permission from legal guardians to do so.

TBN editors will pick the best eight stories to display on TBN. The best storyteller as voted by our readers will win a Halloween ‘Trick or Treat’ bag full of goodies compliments of TBN and its sponsors.

All entrants are encouraged to supply some artwork or pictures with their stories.

All submissions should be directed to news@thebaynet.com with SPOOKTACULAR in the subject line. Entries must be received by Oct. 22 at midnight in order to be eligible for prizes.
