Man Punches Woman after Argument

On Oct. 12, Deputy S. Ruest responded to Orchid Lane in Mechanicsville for the report of an assault.  Investigation revealed Steveland Morris Penn Stewart, 23 of Lexington Park,  got into a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation with the victim.   Stewart punched the victim and attempted to choke her.  Stewart was arrested for second-degree assault.
