On Oct. 4 at 3:20 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 11300 block of Stoney Cove Drive in Waldorf for the report of an assault.

Investigation revealed the suspect was inside his residence arguing with two friends when he threatened to kill the men with a knife. One of the victims wrestled the knife away from the suspect but suffered a minor cut on his hand during the altercation.

Officers arrested Derek Connell Allen, 42 of Waldorf, and charged him with first-degree assault.
